About Our Practice

Wellgrove Family Medicine is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice in Miami, FL. In a traditional system, doctors are often rushed. Here, we've returned to the roots of medicine: a strong, personal relationship between a patient and their physician. By contracting directly with the patient and not billing insurance, we are able to decide how much time is dedicated to each visit.

DPC is not health insurance and does not cover the cost of care you may need in an emergency room, hospital, or specialist’s office. We recommend you maintain a high deductible health plan (HDHP), catastrophic insurance, or enroll in a medical cost-sharing plan for emergencies, illness, or specialist care. DPC does not qualify as minimum essential coverage to satisfy the individual shared responsibility provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, 26 U.S.C. s. 5000A. DPC is not workers’ compensation insurance and does not replace an employer’s obligations.

Why Choose Us:

  • Unrestricted Access: Reach your doctor via phone, text, email, or patient portal message when you need it most. Unlimited office visits in person or via tele-health included in the membership.

  • Extended Visits: No more 10-minute appointments. We have the time to listen.

  • Transparent Costs: A simple monthly membership covers most of your primary care needs—no hidden fees, co-pays, or deductibles.

  • Quality and Excellence in Medicine: Our commitment to quality is rooted in excellent medical training and continuous professional development. We actively seek out continuing education and consult with peers and colleagues, ensuring you receive the best care; grounded in humility and the wisdom to know when a specialist or a fresh perspective is needed.

DPC vs. Traditional Fee-for-Service (FFS) Model

  • Pricing: DPC

Simple, affordable monthly membership. Procedures, labs, and imaging are provided or facilitated at cash-pay prices via professional service providers.

  • Doctor Access: DPC

Direct communication with your doctor via text, email, phone, or patient-portal messaging. Always see your chosen provider. Keep your doctor even when changing jobs or insurance plans.

  • Visit Length: DPC

Extended appointments (30–60 minutes minimum) focused on your needs. Often have same-day or next-day appointments available.

  • Focus: DPC

Prevention, wellness, and comprehensive long-term health. Human connection and care; the foundations of a relationship that aims to accompany you through health challenges and life stages.

  • Pricing: FFS

Co-pays, deductibles, and surprise bills, in addition to a monthly premium. Requires insurance approval for doctors’ orders and sometimes insurance denials - transferring additional burden onto both physician and patient.

  • Doctor Access: FFS

Limited direct communication - speak to nurse or non-clinical staff and must schedule visit to speak with your doctor. Appointments with covering physician or advanced practice provider. Forced to change doctors when changing jobs or insurance plans.

  • Visit Length: FFS

Rushed 10–15 minute appointments. Long wait times for new patient appointments and routine follow-ups.

  • Focus: FFS

Volume of visits and navigating insurance requirements. Often encounter double or triple bookings to ensure minimum volume of visits per day.

Meet the Doctor

Natalia M. Uribe, MD is a board certified family medicine physician who founded Wellgrove Family Medicine to provide a higher standard of care for her community. Her philosophy is centered on the belief that the best medicine happens when patients are heard and supported.

Dr. Uribe has over 10 years’ experience in medicine. She obtained a B.S. in Biology at the University of Miami, then went on to medical school and residency in Philadelphia, PA, at Drexel University College of Medicine and Chestnut Hill Hospital Family Practice Residency Program, respectively, where she found her lifelong dream of practicing medicine reflected in family medicine and primary care.

After training, she returned to Miami and worked in a community health system while participating in the National Health Service Corps. Throughout this time working in the traditional insurance based/fee-for-service system, she experienced first hand the burdens that this system imposes onto both patients and doctors. Her clinical interests include but are not limited to disease prevention and early detection, women’s health, reproductive health, men’s health, and mental health.
